Home worker ergonomic assessments
The UK Government has stated that social distancing will continue until all adults have received the Covid-19 vaccine. This will include in the workplaces and those who can work from home will be asked to continue to do so.
Home working has become the norm for many of us over the past year, and although the UK Health and Safety Executive have confirmed that employers do not need to do a home workstation assessment for all employees during this time, employees may be experiencing discomfort while working from home.
If you have any staff with complex musculoskeletal needs or who report any discomfort, we can help.
We can undertake assessments via (via telephone/video link) to provide an immediate, cost-effective service to help ensure employees adopt ergonomic postures and provide practical, tailored advice and recommendations.
Practical tips for home workers
We’ve produced guidance to help support home workers. It contains practical steps you can take to help optimise your posture and improve your comfort when working at home on a computer.
Working on a computer all day involves few changes in body position. This lack of movement can lead to musculoskeletal aches and pains. See our stretches and gentle exercises to help you move more and ease the strain.
We have also collated the most commonly asked questions we’ve received to help you and your employees stay well when working at home during the Coronavirus. See ‘Home Working – your questions answered’ for more information.
Please get in touch if you’d like to discuss our services further.
