Risk assessments are a key part of risk management at work. They identify what might cause harm, determine if enough is being done to protect people and what more an employer might need to do if risks are unacceptable.

The process of carrying out a risk assessment is commonly explained in five steps;

  1. Identify the hazards
  2. Decide who might be harmed
  3. Evaluate and control risks
  4. Record
  5. Review

Not sure how to identify hazards or evaluate risks? Need help with planning when to review a risk assessment? Throughout the mini series we’ll share helpful infographics exploring each of the five steps to help you keep your risk assessments suitable and sufficient!
