Practical Industrial Ergonomics II

Getting the business benefits

Practical Industrial Ergonomics - II is a two day industrial training course which will show participants how to identify the causes of injuries and how to apply ergonomics principles to modify existing work areas, design new facilities, and select and design equipment and tooling. This approach will help reduce staff sickness and absenteeism, lower healthcare costs, insurance premiums and compensation claims and improve the productivity of the workforce and the quality of the product.

This course is recognised by the Ergonomics Society at level 2, ideal for continuous professional development.

Who should attend?

This course is suitable for engineers, health & safety specialists, and occupational health departments. It is ideal initial training for an organisation's Ergonomics Team or Ergonomics Committee.

What skills and information will they learn?

After completing this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognise human capabilities and limitations

  • Complete ergonomics checklists to prioritise levels of risk
  • Identify the ergonomic solutions that can be applied to reduce problems
  • Apply ergonomics principles and criteria when designing new or modifying existing workplaces, equipment and tools
  • Conduct worksite analyses
  • Write and implement an ergonomics programme
