Personal Ergonomics

Personal Ergonomics is a half-day course for workers in industrial sectors. It teaches them how to apply ergonomics principles to prevent injuries. By involving them in the process it encourages them to take responsibility for their own comfort and safety. This approach will help reduce sickness and absenteeism, lower healthcare costs, insurance premiums and compensation claims and improve the productivity of the workforce.
Who should attend?
This course is suitable for all workers, particularly in assembly, distribution, manufacturing, packing, materials handling and laboratories.
What skills and information will they learn?
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify strategies to prevent visual and musculoskeletal fatigue
- Use tools, equipment and work areas appropriately
- Make suggestions on how to improve work procedures and work areas
- Perform exercises to reduce fatigue and discomfort
- Identify and report symptoms.
Course content
A handbook or reference card showing key information from the seminar is provided.
The course uses case studies to teach workers skills that are immediately applicable to their own work and can be customised to use examples and processes from your own business.

This half-day course is offered in-house. The course costs £600 + VAT for up to 20 participants, giving a cost per head of £30 + VAT for a full course.
