This one day course provides senior executives with a full understanding of their role in health and safety and how this should influence their strategic thinking and holistic risk management practices. This not only ensures that they can meet all their legal and corporate governance obligations, but shows how to put in place an integrated health and safety policy which can minimise their overall business risk, improve the productivity of the workforce and the quality of the product or service, and reduce costs such as healthcare and insurance premiums and compensation claims.

This course is intended for the directors and managers who provide strategic leadership, direction and oversight for their organisation, whether it is in the private, public or voluntary sectors. These are the senior executives who set the policy on health and safety for their organisation.

Course information and how to book
The one day course is accredited by IOSH, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Europe's leading professional body for health and safety practitioners.
At the end of the course, the participants' understanding of the course material will be evaluated by means of a two part assessment:
- a 15 minute written assessment, consisting of ten multiple-choice questions;
- a 30 minute project.
IOSH provides the certificates for the course and participants have to successfully complete both parts of the assessment in order to obtain a Safety for Senior Executives Certificate. The course is offered both in-house and as a public course. The in-house course costs £1,900 + VAT for up to 16 participants, a cost of £119 + VAT per head for a full course.
