Managing safely
Getting the business benefits
This comprehensive 5 day course will enable anyone who manages risks and resources to review their departmental systems and introduce practical controls to improve health and safety. This approach will help to reduce sickness and absenteeism, improve the productivity of the workforce and the quality of the product or service, and reduce costs such as healthcare, insurance premiums and compensation claims. The in-house course can be tailored to use an organisation's own systems, policies and procedures, making all the information immediately relevant and applicable to the participants own work situation.

Course information and how to book
The course is accredited by IOSH, the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, Europe's leading professional body for health and safety practitioners.
At the end of the course, the participants' understanding of the course material will be evaluated by means of a two part assessment:
- a written assessment, based on multiple-choice questions, on the last day of the course
- a practical work-based project carried out after the course
IOSH provides the certificates for the course and participants have to successfully complete both parts of the assessment in order to obtain their Managing Safely Certificate.
This five day course is offered in-house or as a public course. The in-house course can be tailored to your specific requirements, as long as it still covers the IOSH syllabus. For instance, we can include your organisation's health and safety policy, accident reporting system, risk assessment procedure, etc. The course can either be run in one block (i.e. Monday to Friday) or it can be split into parts. In the latter case, we recommend that it is split into two days one week, followed by three days the next week, but other splits can be accommodated.
The in-house course costs £6,420 + VAT for up to 16 participants, a cost of £401 +VAT per head. Customisation starts from £350 per course.
The public courses are managed for us by BIFM, details are available on their website http://www.bifm-training.co.uk/facilities-management-training/health-safety/courses33-45.htm#37

"This is the second course that I have been on that's had Sally instructing. This one like the first has been brilliant. Apart from the way she manages to get her class to integrate (which is excellent), she is extremely interesting, has a huge amount of knowledge and has wonderful true stories to use as examples, which helps the course material to sink in."
"Great tutor; knew her stuff and was good to encourage group and team participation."
"Very approachable - clear and concise teaching - without any jargon."
"Very good structure and very good trainer in a vast subject area. Excellent use of applying procedures/processes to real working areas. Overall a very worthwhile learning experience, thank you!"
"Extremely knowledgeable, open to debate, positive towards responses rather than negative, helpful throughout! Excellent. A+."
