Course content
The course has a strong practical basis incorporating several practical exercises. The two day course covers these areas in more detail than the one day course and gives participants chance to conduct an assessment under the supervision of the trainer. A comprehensive reference manual and checklists are provided.

- Introduction to ergonomics
- An introduction to The Health and Safety [Display Screen Equipment] Regulations 1992 (as amended 2002)
- Visual problems - causes and solutions
- Musculoskeletal problems - causes and solutions
- Environmental problems - causes and solutions
- An introduction to workstation assessments
- Practical workstation assessment procedures
- Conduct workstation assessment and discuss results
- Review and action planning procedures.
Course information and how to book
This course is accredited by the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (IEHF). At the end of the course, the participants' understanding of the course material will be evaluated by means of a two part assessment:
- a written assessment, based on multiple-choice questions, on the last day of the course
- a practical work-based project carried out after the course.
The IEHF provides the certificates for the course and participants have to successfully complete both parts of the assessment in order to obtain their certificate.
This two day course is offered in-house and can be tailored to use examples from your own business. We can also provide a non-accredited version of this course, without assessment, if preferred.
The accredited course costs £3,200 + VAT, and the non-accredited course costs £2,500 +VAT for up to 16 participants, giving a cost per head of £200 +VAT (£156 + VAT non-accredited) for a fully attended course.
