Biography

Vicki is a senior consultant with System Concepts Ltd.  She holds the NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety and Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) certificates in Intermediate Certificate in Food Hygiene and Hazard Analysis Principles and Practice. She is also a Chartered member of the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (CMIOSH).

Before joining System Concepts, Vicki worked in both the public and private sectors, providing health and safety advice across a wide range of environments and business areas including hotel activities, older people residential facilities and respite care, offices and call centres, building maintenance, leisure facilities, libraries and museums, education centres, workshops, community safety and enforcement services.

Vicki has previously worked for the London Borough of Croydon and Hilton Hotels. Her main areas of experience include:

• Carrying out general and specific risk assessments including confined space, pregnant workers, hazardous substances and work equipment
• Developing health and safety policies and procedures
• Health and safety auditing
• Inspecting of premises including libraries, residential homes, day centres, leisure centres, respite care homes, town hall, car pound and general offices.
• Training needs analysis and design and delivery of health and safety training courses including dynamic risk assessment, working at height, fire safety training, fundamentals of health and safety for managers
• Proactive and reactive stress and sickness management including risk assessment, work plans, training and occupational health referrals
• Reviewing accident, incident and sickness reports, trends and completion of investigations
• Facilitating Safety Committees with trade unions /management.
• Advising on security solutions and providing general property risk management advice
• Completing DSE Assessments and advising on specialist equipment and arrangements
• Reviewing and undertaking fire risk assessments for schools, leisure centres, libraries, offices and care homes
• Completing manual handling risk assessments
