Biography
Sam is a senior consultant with System Concepts. He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Psychology from York University, an MSc in Human Factors and Ergonomics from Leeds University and Postgraduate Diploma in Multimedia and Interactive Systems from Napier University. He is a member of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors, the Usability Professionals’ Association, and the Market Research Society.
Since joining System Concepts, Sam has been involved in a wide range of user experience, usability and accessibility consultancy projects.
Client Projects / Case Studies
- Usability evaluations of numerous mobile phone handsets, applications and operating systems, for various leading manufacturers in the UK and USA. This has involved user testing, expert reviews, and facilitating focus groups
- Carrying out in-context research for an international flight, hotel and car booking system; facilitating in-depth interviews with travel agents in agencies across Europe
- Conducting user testing, surveys and focus groups with children as part of the CBBC rebuild project, which was nominated for a .net award
- Evaluating a software application for a major UK Hedgefund, by conducting “in context” research with brokers and traders
- Ethnographic research into the use of mobile phones with disabled users.
