Kevin Heywood

Kevin specialises in:

Biography

Kevin has a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Studies from the University of Sunderland and the Nottingham Trent University Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management.  He is a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, and a member of the International Institute of Risk and Safety Management.

He previously worked in health and safety in the public, voluntary and private sectors, having been employed by Groundwork, Manchester City Council, Bury Metropolitan Borough Council and Doncaster Chamber, where he advised and supported management and staff on all aspects of health and safety.

Kevin won the SHP IOSH Awards 2009, Consultant of the Year category for his work providing on-site support to Ernst & Young.

Client Projects / Case Studies

Since joining System Concepts in 2007, Kevin has been working with one of our major clients at their Leeds site, providing day-to-day support for all aspects of health and safety at ten sites in a large financial organisation.  Skill areas include:

• implementing and managing specific programmes and projects required to improve how health and safety is managed
• reviewing all site-specific and activity / event risk assessments
• supporting and reviewing audits of contractors
• monitoring the implementation of health and safety procedures on all sites
• coordinating the H&S prequalification process for regional contractors.

Real life interests

• Kevin is a Civilian Instructor at his local Air Cadets Squadron.
• Travel.
• Reading historical novels and biographies.
