Biography

Stuart is a usability consultant with System Concepts Ltd.  He holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Multimedia Design and Technology (First).  Whilst at university he produced an emotionally designed educational activity in the form of a communal surface game.  This was part of his dissertation project - Affect-Ed.  Alongside this he contributed to the design of an accessible web portal for autistic teenagers going through transition. 

Prior to joining System Concepts, Stuart gained in-house usability experience working on an intranet project for Local Government.  He then gained agency experience through a usability research internship. This role included:

• Guerrilla usability testing with members of the public
• On the street ‘Vox Pop’ interviews to capture qualitative data quickly
• Planning and setting up of mobile device testing
• Supporting the running of diary studies.

Stuart is a member of the Usability Professionals Association and an Associate Member of the British Computer Society (Interaction Group).

• Carrying out a usability audit of comprehensive legal web forms for The Law Society in order to produce guidelines for future iterations.
• Producing interactive prototypes demonstrating examples of best practice in web forms for The Law Society.
• Production of interactive prototypes for a redesign of a B2B website for a  leading telecommunications company.
• Accessibility audit of Accenture’s website.
• School based testing of a children’s website aimed at users with cognitive and motor impairments.
• Usability testing of BBC Newsround website.
