Biography

Maria started as a Consultant with System Concepts in 2009.  She holds a degree in Communication Psychology from the University of Applied Sciences Zittau/Goerlitz in Germany.   Within her course of studies she specialised in Human Computer Interaction and attained a sound knowledge in evaluating and optimising user centred interactive systems.

Maria’s dissertation on mobile website usability involved evaluating the Amazon website on the touch screen smart phones iPhone and Blackberry Storm, carrying out a usability test with 20 participants.

Maria has industry experience in media, insurance, social networking, mobile, travel, and e-commerce.

Some of her recent projects include:

• Conducting in-home user research in Germany as part of an international ethnographic study.
• Conducting usability testing for one of the BBC’s websites.
• Conducting a usability test of a digital museum guide with visually impaired participants.
• Assisting with an expert review of software to manage members’ legal protection for a trade union.
