Biography

Charlie is a consultant with System Concepts.  He holds a BSc in Medical Science and Physiology from University College London and has recently completed his thesis on Disability Management for an MSc in Health Ergonomics at the University of Surrey.   He is a member of the Ergonomics Society and has been active as part of the London Ergonomics Group (LEG) as an event organiser.

Charlie joined System Concepts in 2004 and his interests and research lie in usability and accessibility.  He has experience working on a number of projects for clients that enable people with short and long term disabilities to work effectively.  He also helps clients to meet the requirements of legislation such as the Equality Act.

Client Projects/Case Studies

  • On-site Display Screen Equipment (DSE) assessments involving data analysis, preparation of detailed reports and practical recommendations.  The assessments have involved a variety of working environments  such as open plan offices, reception areas, bank counter workstations and call centres.
  • Space planning for Unionlearn at the TUC’s head office, involving the safe and practical reorganisation of their office layout to accommodate extra staff.
  • On-site support for a web-based DSE training and risk assessment programme at Ernst & Young’s London offices.
  • Conducting website accessibility testing, analysing the results and preparing reports with practical recommendations for the Department of Transport and the new BBC homepage.
