Supporting Action on RSI
System Concepts supports the RSI Action Group, a national Repetitive Strain Injury charity that works together with sufferers and organisations to help facilitate relief for suffers of RSI as well as aid prevention of the condition through education and awareness.
This year Christine Critchley, System Concepts, Senior Consultant and Trainer presented at the conference on ‘How Can Ergonomics Help You?’ Christine brought together her many years of experience in performing DSE assessments to give a very useful insight into the practical ways people can use ergonomics in the workplace to improve peoples comfort and reduce the risk of injuries such as RSI.
System Concepts also had a stand at the exhibition where Jo Hare and Fiona Ambrose ran an interactive competition on the hazards associated with workstation set-ups. The competition was very popular but none of the entrants actually listed all of the correct answers highlighting the need for ongoing training and risk assessment.
The bottle of champagne for the most correct answers was won by of one of the practitioners of the Alexander Technique, which seemed very appropriate!
All three of our consultants gave advice to people throughout the day demonstrating the importance of good ergonomic and health and safety practices in the workplace.
